Secrets are (hopefully) going to come to light in episode 9 of Westworld, ‘The Well-Tempered Clavier.’

Before we really get to the meat of the preview for Westworld’s penultimate episode of the season, can we just talk about how fantastic its name is? ‘The Well-Tempered Clavier’ is just an incredible name, even if it weren’t named after a couple of Bach pieces. Anyway, episode 9 of Westworld is going to move some more secrets into the light. If the preview is anything to go by, that is.

More from Show Snob

Right off the bat there’s mention of the maze, labyrinth, or whatever you feel like calling it. We haven’t actually seen this thing, nor do we know what it actually is. Is it an actual maze, or is the name just a metaphor? Westworld has been teasing this out all season, and an answer of some kind would be greatly appreciated before season 2. Whatever it is, it has both Dolores and the Man in Black after it.

We also see Maeve back win the lab after her accidental offing of the new Clementine. This time, however, she appears to have little patience for the usual proceedings. It’s anyone’s guess what Bernard is going to do with he knowledge that Maeve has gone rogue, though it’s possible he could end up joining her. After she finds out that he’s a Host, that is. Ford and Bernard are also set to clash again, though it feels a little too soon after the death of Theresa and his memory wipe for that to come back up. Westworld is not exactly known for its patience.

Next: Can Bernard be Trusted?

There’s really no telling how the first season will end, but we expect big things from the final two episodes. HBO’s Casey Bloys has said in the past that not all of our questions are going to be answered, but as long as they’re good episodes in their own right we won’t mind so much.
