The Westworld finale is right around the corner. Let’s dig into everything we expect to find out.

We’ve trying to wrap our heads around Westworld all season. For better or worse, it hasn’t been an easy task, and that’s not even saying that we’re quite there yet. The series has done an impressive job at seemingly been over-heavy on exposition while still building a well-hidden web of secrets. There are some things going in to the finale that we’re expecting to learn, while others will likely have to wait until season 2.

The identity of the Man in Black

This is a big one. It may be the biggest one. Who is the Man in Black and what, exactly, is he after? Yeah, okay, so that’s technically two questions, but they come together as a package deal. We’ve wondering all season about the who the mysterious troublemaker is, and we fully expect to learn all about him in the finale. Westworld has spent too long hinting at it and building up his character to not let us know. We may not be 100% certain that he is William, but most of the signs are pointing that way at the moment. Just come out with it already.

What is Ford’s narrative?

Ford has been building his new narrative since the first episode, and all we know so far is that it’s weird, dark, and potentially destructive to the old way of the park. The trailer for the finale hints at this heavily with Ford’s  voiceover directly mentioning the narrative. We may not learn what the end result is planned to be, but we are ready to find out what’s going on. Ford plans to turn the park upside down, furthering bending it to his will. We’re excited to find out what that entails.

Will Maeve succeed?

This is a tough one. Westworld has been building up Maeve’s story in such a way that it’s difficult to believe that we’re going to see the end of it in the finale. The newly released photos, however, show her and Hector sneaking into the lab. Maeve is trying to build a Host army in order to revel and break out of the park. It’s the kind of grand plan that is going to take a while to see through, but she’s come so far that we’re not expecting definite outcome. We’re also expecting an intervention from Ford at this point, so be on the look out for that.

Those are there three plot points that we’re expecting to see heavily touched upon in the Westworld finale. There are other stories that are going to move forward, like whatever’s going on with the maze, but most of these are going to continue into the second season. Whatever’s going to happen, we’re ready for some answers.
