New HBO Trailer has Game of Thrones Footage and new Shows
The latest HBO hype trailer for 2017 includes Game of Thrones and new shows.
HBO is getting ready to window its 2016 slate, especially now that Westworld is over. That means that it’s time to look forward to 2017, which is going to bring a lot of new series as well as the return of old ones. Oh, and there will be new Game of Thrones. HBO has debuted a new trailer for the new year, and this one includes some footage that we haven’t seen before.

It’s pretty much a given that a lot of people are going to watch this for the quick flash of Game of Thrones. There isn’t all that much in that department, to be honest. Arya on a horse, back in Westeros, and quick glimpses of Jon and Sansa. Game of Thrones is only a small part of the trailer. There are better looks at new shows like The Deuce, starring James Franco, and Pete Holme’s new show, Crashing. Big Little Lies is also in there. It’s also here to remind us that both Insecure and Divorce will be returning for second seasons next year.
New shows aren’t the only new thing to look forward to. Next year will also bring The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and The Wizard of Lies, the movie about Bernie Madoff.
Next: Does Westworld have to be surprising?
One series that is absent is Westworld. While that doesn’t necessarily confirm that a second season isn’t coming until 2018, it doesn’t bode well. We’ve already been warned that Westworld probably wouldn’t be back next year, though an official decision has not been announced. It would be wise to just write it off and if it ends up happening, great. If not, well, at least we’ll have Game of Thrones.
