Tensions run high in photos for the Divorce Season Finale

Frances and Robert try to find common ground in the Divorce season finale, ‘Détente.’

Divorce, a show which had somewhat of a shaky start, has grown over the course of its first season. No, Frances and Robert are not likable characters, and expecting that to change would do no good. Instead, we’ve grown a deeper appreciation for what both have been going through. The season finale, ‘Détente,’ will see tensions come to a head (and then possibly cool,) if these new photos are anything to go by.

First we see a damaged Robert having a heart to heart with his daughter. The children haven’t played a big role in Divorce; they’ve pretty much just been background characters.

More from Show Snob

Here we see a concerned Frances with her father, in what we presume to be her opened art gallery. The look of worry is anyone’s guess, but it could come from concern for her future. It’s been state multiple times on the show that the space that she chose is “dead,” and has seen business after business close. We also know that her father is fond of Robert, and perhaps he’s tired of the fighting and just wants them to patch things up.

We don’t expect the season finale to bring the strong of the actual divorce to a close. After all, the series is getting a second season next year. It does, however, beg the question how far this story can be spread. An actual divorce could go on for quite a while, so that’s nothing to go on.

Next: J. J. Abrams is bringing another show to HBO.

The season finale of Divorce will air this Sunday at its normal time (it was pushed last week due to Westworld’s extra stuffed finale.) And then we’ll have HBO’s winter slate to look forward to.
