The Girls get Together in a Teaser for Girls Season 6

A new teaser for Girls season 6 features the group trying to hold themselves together.

Calling Hannah, Marnie, Sosh, and Jess friends has always been a little generous. Over the five seasons, the girls of Girls have had far more downs than ups, with the idea of friendship acting more as an ideal than an actuality. A new teaser for Girls season 6 drives that point home further, with the group trying to stay together but coming to terms with the fact that, hey, maybe  they were never super close to begin with.

We don’t have any context for the “group meeting,” but we can sort of figure it out. Relationships between the group have been rocky for well over a season, with Hannah and Jess getting the most attention. Maybe it’s time for the two of them to just give it up and realize that maybe it would be better if they went their separate ways. At least there will always been Elijah, Hannah’s true best friend. Also the best character on the show, sorry.

There’s also going to be a tense meeting between Hannah and Adam, though Adam doesn’t have any lines in the teaser. Hopefully in the full trailer we’ll get to hear from Adam and Ray as well. Marnie is also headed for a breakdown, perhaps having something to do with the situation with Desi and her budding relationship with Ray. We all know that Ray is supposed to be with  Sosh anyway, right?

There’s not a single season of Girls that hasn’t been turbulent in some way, and we’ve been prepped to expect that from the final season as well. We’re gong to miss Girls when it ends, in all of its messy glory. There’s something to admire about its unapologetic nature.
