A surprisingly lack of Pope in these new shots

There’s not really anything like The Young Pope currently on television. House of Cards comes closest, but even that has turned out to be a little bit of a stretch. The show is surreal, both serious and tongue in cheek, and features brilliant cinematography. It also has something of an unorthodox air schedule; new episodes air on both Sunday and Monday. That leads to HBO posting new photos for both episodes at the same time – not that we’re complaining.

First up we have an ominous shot of Sister Mary. What is she looking at? Well, we don’t have a clue. Granted, The Young Pope is not Game of Thrones or Westworld; it’s not going to feature amazing locales and otherworldly situations.

Here we have a great shot of Lenny and one of his confidants. Surely this takes place before or after Lenny says something shocking for a Pope to say. We’re assuming, anyway.

This is a character that we haven’t been formally introduced to yet. She appears to be in aw by either the Pope or the Vatican in general. We won’t have to wait long to find out. While it’s not easy to figure out what is going on these photos, they sure are nice to look at. For those looking for fancy episode names, you won’t find them. The Young Pope’s episode titles are the simplest aspects about it, just ‘Episode 3’ and ‘Episode 4.’

We’re on board with whatever The Young Pope has cooking. Have you been following the weird schedule, or have you been streaming it instead?
