Showrunenr David Mandel is Hoping for Veep Season 7
And we’re right there with him
We’re a little more than month out at this point from season 6 of Veep, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look to the future. Veep is one of HBO’s most successfully comedies, and certainly ranks as one of the greatest political comedies of all time. It may seem odd, or silly, to talk about Veep season 7 right now, but if the showrunner is doing it, why not play along?

Veep’s showrunner, David Mandel, recently responded on Twitter to a fan that tried to squeeze a little info about a potential seventh season out of him. Mandel, to his great credit, is open with fans on social media. So he responded.
Mandel was responding to a fan who wanted to know if the writer’s room was only being shut down temporarily – until season 7. It’s not the least bit surprising that Veep season 7 is in the cards (see above,) but it’s exiting to read that they seem to be totally on board with the idea. As far as we’re concerned, as long as Veep continues to be fresh, smart, and funny, it could run or 10 years. We’d be perfectly happy with that.
Check out the teaser for the new season:
It is, of course, far too early to actually renew the show for season 7. HBO is going to sit on that until after season 6 finishes airing, and so said season remains just hypothetical at this point. Mandel, along with the official Veep social media accounts, are some of the best follows you could make in terms of staying connect to a favorite show.

Season 6 of Veep will premiere on April 16th. We have high hopes for the new season, which will find Selina trying to regain some of her lost political power.
