‘Stranger Things’ gets the ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ treatment
In a brilliant piece of cross promotion the new ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ crew mocks a few moments from fellow Netflix hit ‘Stranger Things.’
If you’re not familiar with Mystery Science Theater 3000 the main idea of the show is that a guy and his robot pals sit down and make fun of a bad old movie. MST3000 was a classic comedy staple for geeks in the 1990’s, and Netflix recently brought it back for a brand new season with some big names.
Fellow Netflix hit Stranger Things is also set to come back soon with a new season. So what better way to cross promote the two series than to have the Mystery Science Theater gang sit down and tear into a few minutes of Stranger Things.

That was just fantastic. This is probably some of the smartest cross promotion we’ve seen in a long time. But we don’t think they should stop here. Why not have Mystery Science Theater tear into all the new and upcoming Netflix hits?
Who doesn’t want to see MST3000 laughing it up at The Gilmore Girls. I can only imagine that Tom Servo is a big Lorelai fan and Crow is a big fan of Rory. Oh the hilarious conflict as Jonah Ray is stuck between those divided factions. Or perhaps MST300 could go Narcos? Who doesn’t want to see Crow start modeling his life after Pablo Escobar while Tom and Jonah try to bust him.
Why stop with funny trailers even? Lets get some full episode MST3000’s on these shows. It truly would be the perfect show for Netflix junkies like us.
