Archer Dreamland: ‘Jane Doe’ Review

This week in ‘Archer Dreamland’ our P.I. finds himself in a load of trouble thanks to Poovey and Lana tries her hand at stand-up comedy.

We haven’t been high on Archer Dreamland so far, not Ray Gillette with a marijuana cigarette high anyway. The first couple of episodes really weren’t what you’d hope from Archer. There was something missing from them. At first, we thought it might be that Archer and the gang weren’t back in the office, but then this week it crystallized. The reason Archer Dreamland hasn’t had the magic of previous seasons of Archer is that the gang wasn’t all together.

With the Archer crew spread out covering all the characters in this dreamland fantasy we’ve missed out on the fun interactions between the group, and that’s where Archer shined most. This week we at least get to see some of the old Archer magic as our P.I. tries to break out of jail with Ray and Poovey stands in his way.

The best part of the episode though was Lana trying to do comedy. Lana attempts to do a comedy set but bombs when all her jokes are about syphilis. That’s the kind of inappropriate and hilarious bit we’ve come to expect from Archer. The only thing that could have made it better was seeing the rest of the gang mocking her for it.

We give this week’s slightly better Archer Dreamland episode a C.
