Finally, Veep, reunites the cast (sort of) in the episode, “Georgia,” where mostly everyone deals with the first open election in the country of Georgia.

Selina gets relegated to overseeing the election while she is being watched by guest-star Andrew Doyle and Minna. The latter two are convinced that one of the candidates is involved in multiple poisoning scandals and oppressive government of sorts. Meanwhile, said force of evil, makes Selina offer she’s having hard to decline: a ten-million dollar untraceable “donation”.

Of course, the supposed “better candidate,” ends up raising the bribe with fifteen million. Selina is shocked because his burn scars and humble apartment gave her the impression that he was a poor underdog candidate but was astonished tp find out that it is all but a ruse.

It makes her wonder if either of the two men is right for the job considering they’re both criminals. Of course, by the time the election rolls around, she has flipped again after a twenty-million dollar offer. Ben attempts to help her decide whether she should do the honorable thing and recuse herself or accept the money, which leads her to eventually take the deal while convincing Minna to resign.

Things can never be that easy, however, and Selina does get her money but the exchange rate has suffered since her departure from Georgia so her twenty million turns into a little over three hundred thousand dollars.

Jonah is still is usual bumbling self and he finds himself as the man left out as the other congressmen pretend to “haze” him when in reality they’re simply avoiding him. He’s too prideful to admit that he hasn’t made any new friends and accept Richard’s friendship at first.

However, Richard is clearly the honest, kindest, character on the show and he chooses not to mention at all that Jonah keeps getting ditched. Jonah graciously accepts his proposal to hang out by the end of the episode and the two have a great time at a metal concert until they realize it’s a neo-Nazi event. Nevertheless, it was fun to see this odd couple reunited for even a short amount of time.

They aren’t the only two who get a good reunion, with Mike and Gary both realizing that they accidentally voted. The language barrier in Georgia causes the two to bond over their shared experiences. Mike has gotten completely desperate, he needs this job but so far it isn’t even paying him.

Meanwhile, Gary has felt the need to please Selina even more and it’s forced him into situations he isn’t totally comfortable with. Their relationship is a nice payoff from last season and hopefully, the two will get more scenes together now that they’re working alongside Selina.

Dan and Amy also get a short scene together which probably warmed the hearts of anyone who loves watching these two on-screen. She is pretending to be the doting warm fiancé alongside Buddy Calhoun while Dan attempts to unravel her by repeatedly playing his drunken arrest tape from the last episode.

Him calling her on her fake “Downton Abbey,” was great, albeit brief, but since Amy seems to have abandoned Buddy, it seems like her return to the rest of the group is coming. Dan has gotten himself roped into Catherine and Marjorie’s storyline as their prospective sperm donor.

It makes sense for them to choose Dan out of the entire group, he’s handsome and successful despite his extreme narcissism which makes him an ideal candidate. He’s immediately onboard and it should make for a fun scene when Selina finds out that he will be the father of her grandchild.

While “Georgia,” was fun bottle episode of sorts, next week’s episode promises that the gang will be back in Washington D.C. for the funeral of a judge. Selina will take on trying to mourn someone respectfully while also attempting to further her own political career.

Dan seems like he’ll be hit with the realization that he’s going to be a father (was anyone else a little surprised they didn’t ask Gary?) and Amy is nowhere to be found but she’s probably on a plane hoping to find a job at the Meyer Foundation.
