5 things we learned from Marvel’s “The Defenders” trailer

5. The main villain will be targeting The Defenders’ loved ones.
Alexandra, a new villain played by Sigourney Weaver, gets to make her first onscreen debut and seems to have complete confidence in her evil plan. She happily mentions in the trailer that she will use their relationships as a way to tear them apart and considering the four heroes all have valuable friendships, it seems likely that someone will be biting the dust.

Considering Jessica’s scene with Misty, Malcolm seems like he will be the first to bite the dust. Although Trish Walker doesn’t make an appearance in the trailer, it would seem weird for Marvel to kill off such an iconic character before exploring her Hellcat alter ego. Who else is expendable from the cast? Colleen Wing, who also makes a brief appearance, seems unlikely as well considering she was the one saving grace for Iron Fist, so could one of the Meachum siblings get killed off?
Now that Stick will be taking on the group as a leader, he could be a likely candidate as well however the most morbid thought is that it will be Claire Temple dying to finally force The Defenders into action. It would be heart-breaking to lose Rosario Dawson but would be a good motivation for all the heroes since she’s touched all of their lives.
Not to mention the confirmation that she will not be appearing in The Punisher series makes it even more likely that everyone’s favorite nurse may not make it past the miniseries.
