Entertainment Weekly debuted the first cast photo of Marvel’s Inhumans series on the heels of The Defenders trailer release.
It seems like a weird decision to excite fans with an action packed trailer of one of the most anticipated series of the summer, then drop such a major disappointment, in the form of the first official Inhumans cast photo, the next day.

While Iwan Rheon’s Maximus is basically okay, Black Bolt and Medusa stand out like sore thumbs. The Inhuman king is missing his mask and tuning fork which helps control his incredible power.

However, the biggest problem is Medusa who is wearing such a painfully obvious wig that it drags the rest of the photo down to its level. The showrunner, Scott Buck, admitted that they’ve had difficulty trying to figure out what to do with Medusa’s hair which is troubling for a show that should be much farther along with its special effects.
Not to mention, Buck, was also the showrunner for Netflix’s disastrous Iron Fist which was the biggest misstep in the Marvel television world.
Hopefully, the negative fan reaction will inspire Marvel to fix these costumes before filming. At the very least, these may not be the final outfits but just quickly thrown together ensembles for a photo shoot.
However, the bigger deal will be for Marvel to put Lockjaw in the next Inhumans photo shoot because a giant adorable dog would’ve drawn focus away from the major problems.
