4. What’s going on with Bilquis?

I find it very peculiar that Bilquis, the Queen of Sheba, is the only god we met who is outside of Shadow’s journey. All of the other gods, new or old, including Wednesday, Sweeney, Tech Boy, Czernobog and Media, we meet through interactions with Shadow. Bilquis on the other hand we met separately in the first episode when we watch her consume a man through her vagina.

This week’s episode is no different. After an intergalactic scene jump (the guy from last week seems to be doing all right there) we are with Bilquis again and she’s consuming sacrifice after sacrifice. So why are we seeing Bilquis before Shadow meets her? Is she somehow the key to ending the war between the old gods and the new? It would make sense. Love is, after all, timeless.

5. Shadow is going to have his doubts

We think that Shadow is entering the world of the gods far too easily. While Shadow admits this week that he thinks that he might be going a little crazy after seeing Media on the TV screens in the supermarket, we think that by next week Shadow is going to have some serious doubts come next week as he delves further into the world of the gods and and leaves his normal, human life behind.
