Running time for every Game of Thrones season 7 episode revealed
By Corey Smith
Prepare to spend a lot of time in Westeros this summer Game of Thrones fans, many of the episodes of season 7 will be long. Really long.
Although it might have been only a week ago that the news broke that the seventh season of Game of Thrones would not consist of “super-sized” episodes, it appears the 7 episodes would still be consistently longer than in seasons past. Gaze upon these running times courtesy of HBO, and celebrate the extra long running times of many of the episodes. Episode 4 is the only party pooper.
- Episode 1: 59 minutes
- Episode 2: 59 minutes
- Episode 3: 63 minutes
- Episode 4: 50 minutes
- Episode 5: 59 minutes
- Episode 6: 71 minutes
- Episode 7: 81 minutes

- The Santa Clauses season 2, episode 6 recap “Wanga Banga Langa!”
- Lawmen: Bass Reeves season 1, episode 7 preview: Non-spoiler thoughts for Part VII
- Goosebumps season 1, episode 6 recap: “Night of the Living Dummy”
- Beacon 23 season 1, episode 3 recap: “Why Can’t We Go on as Three?”
- Upload season 3, episode 2 recap: “Strawberry”
Of course, the eye-popping numbers there are the final two episodes of the season, at 71 and 81 minutes respectively for episodes 6 and 7. 81 minutes of uninterrupted television is an eternity, but one in which we will happily spend the rest of our lives. Or at least our Sunday nights.
Both of those episodes are longer than any yet aired episode, last year’s season 6 finale ‘The Winds of Winter’ clocked in at 69 minutes. Conversely, episode 4’s length of but 50 minutes, is tied for the shortest episode of the series with the season 6 premiere episode ‘The Red Woman.’
So what say you Game of Thrones fans? Is 442 minutes enough time with your favorite characters? If the 442 minutes of season 7 were divided into ten episodes, each episode would clock in at 42 minutes. Is this a better way to present Game of Thrones penultimate season?
Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 16.
