HBO will film multiple endings for the Game of Thrones series finale
If you’re a spoilerphobe, we’ve got some great news for you, as HBO plans on filming multiple endings for the Game of Thrones series finale.
It was no secret that Game of Thrones season 7 was leaked almost in its entirety by an anonymous Redditor on the Freefolk subreddit. Major scenes like Jon Snow reaching out and petting Drogon, Brienne and Arya’s duel at Winterfell, the wight hunting expedition in “Beyond the Wall,” and the subsequent death and resurrection of Dany’s dragon, Viserion, by the Night King. And, pardon the terrible pun, but that was just the tip of the ice-spear.
While we don’t know when Game of Thrones will return to HBO for its eighth and final season, we do know, thanks to The Morning Call, that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss plan on filming multiple endings to the season 8 finale, so no one, not even the actors themselves will know how it all will end.

According to HBO programming chief, Casey Bloys, no one will “really know what happens.”
"You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end."
So, until I see different, the Hound will sit atop the Iron Throne eating not one, not two, but all the f**king chickens in Westeros.
In all seriousness, I really love this idea. As an entertainment writer, you get used to a certain level of spoiler because it’s just part of the business, but actually having multiple endings filmed, will throw off those who would ruin a perfectly great surprise by leaking what happens months ahead of time.

That’s not to say I didn’t gobble up every delicious morsel of those season 7 leaks, I’m simply saying it would be nice to be surprised just once before the series ends.
