American Horror Story: Cult episode 7 preview — Watch Lena Dunham as Valerie Solanas

In addition to Lena Dunham’s guest appearance, episode 7 of “American Horror Story: Cult” will also see the return of Frances Conroy.

There’s already been turmoil and betrayal within the titular cult of American Horror Story season 7 following the brutal murder of one of its own members, reporter Beverly Hope’s cameraman RJ in “Holes.” That same episode hinted at the fact that Beverly believes to have some power over Kai after he emotionally revealed the nature of his parent’s death, and the subsequent cover-up by his older brother Rudy, who just so happens to be Ally’s therapist.

The preview for episode 7, entitled “Valerie Solanas Died For Your Sins: Scumbag,” suggests that a feminist revolt may be afoot, with Beverly at the helm so she can emerge as the cult’s true leader. The clip opens with Beverly visiting a character played by AHS regular Frances Conroy, donning a black wig.

“I’ve been expecting you,” she tells the disgruntled reporter.

We also see Beverly briefly interact with Kai, who insists that she trusts him after she suggests that they “need some fresh blood.”

“Men always push the women aside,” Beverly tells an undisclosed character. We then see her engaging in Kai’s pinky routine with Winter.

Besides Conroy, the promo also features Lena Dunham as Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who attempted to assassinate Andy Warhol (played by Evan Peters). She’s shown presumably about to shoot the famed pop artist and is also briefly spotted about to kiss a young version of the character played by Conroy, who is also shown in another scene pointing a gun at someone alongside two other women clad in all black.

“I know what it means to assassinate a man,” she tells Beverly. This hints that she was a part of a cult that exclusively killed men.
