HBO is currently shooting the second season of their hit sci-fi series Westworld.

However, production of the second season has been suspended due to an injury involving a recurring cast member. TMZ broke the story and said that the production has not released the name of the actor but that the injury is serious.

TMZ reported that the injury did not happen while filming but instead happened at the actor’s home. According to a source, the actor fell and hit his head and is in serious condition.

Deadline reached out to HBO and learned that the TMZ report was accurate but was also unable to obtain a name, out of respect to the actor’s privacy. The only thing known at this time is that the recurring actor is a male.

HBO did report that the suspension of the filming of the second season of Westworld is just temporary, but they sent their sincere hopes for a quick recovery to the actor.

Westworld is scheduled to return to the air in Spring 2018, and there is no word on whether this injury will affect that premiere date or not. All 10 scripts for season two are completed, and HBO confirmed the Spring 2018 premiere back in July. Filming is expected to stretch into April 2018.

Cast members returning for Westworld Season 2 include Ed Harris, Rachel Evan Woods, James Marsden, Louis Herthum and Thandie Newton. 79-year-old Anthony Hopkins has not revealed whether or not he will return for the show.

Newcomers to the cast include Katja Herbers, Gustaf Skarsgard, Fares Fares and Betty Gabriel.
