Keven Spacey fired from Netflix amid mounting sexual assault allegations
Netflix has officially dropped actor Kevin Spacey amid even more claims of sexual assault.
Last week was a tumultuous week for Netflix and its once flagship show, House of Cards. Actor Kevin Spacey (Frank Underwood) was accused of sexual misconduct by Star Trek: Discovery star Anthony Rapp on Sunday of last week, and soon after, MRC and Netflix suspended production on House of Cards season 6.
Now, as new allegations have been brought against Spacey, Netflix has decided to completely separate itself from the actor, as Variety reports. A spokesperson for Netflix released a statement regarding Kevin Spacey, House of Cards, and other projects the actor had with the streaming service.

"Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey. We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show."
Many fans of the show would like to see Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) take center stage, especially since she became President of the Unites States at the end of season 5, even going so far as to carry out a Frank Underwood trademark fourth wall break.
This would be a fantastic option for a House of Cards spinoff, and could even bring closure to the Kevin Spacey/Frank Underwood era by having an off-screen death for the character.

There is even a report that Netflix is considering a spinoff featuring Douglas Stamper (Frank’s right hand man) but that does not have the same appeal as a Claire Underwood character-driven show.
