Great news for fans of The Twilight zone, as Get Out director Jordan Peele, is set to revive the show for CBS All Access.

Widely considered to be one the best TV shows of all time, The Twilight Zone is making its triumphant return soon, and it will be on CBS’ streaming service, All Access. According to Entertainment Weekly, there will be three producers attached to the anthology series: Jordan Peele (Get Out), Marco Ramirez (The Defenders on Netflix), and Simon Kinberg (X-Men).

Peele spoke about bringing the show out of retirement, saying it felt like “we were living in a twilight zone,” this year, and this is the best time to “reintroduce it to modern audiences.” CBS All Access executive Julie McNamara had this to say:

"The original The Twilight Zone bridged science fiction, horror, and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before. Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series."

The Twilight Zone first premiered in 1959 and ran until 1964. In 1985, the show was revived but wasn’t very popular.

In fact, let’s never mention it again.

That bastardization ran until 1989. UPN tried and failed to revive the show again in 2002, but the show was canceled after just one year, in 2003.

The original Twilight Zone was much beloved, so much, in fact, that reruns of the show still air on cable television.

It will be a tall task for Peele and his fellow producers to bring back the magic of that original series, but with today’s technology and the experts behind the scenes, we’re confidant it can be done.
