If you were hoping Game of Thrones would return in 2018 for its final season, we’ve got some bad news for you.

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), is currently in the midst of filming season 8 of the show, which will be its last. She’s also got an X-Men film coming out soon, where she’ll be the Dark Pheonix. Speaking to Variety about both topics, Turner revealed that Game of Thrones would, in fact, return for its final season in 2019.

"Yeah, I’m really excited. “Game of Thrones” comes out in 2019"

Look at that, it does sting as bad as I thought it would. Turner also talked about growing up on the set of Game of Thrones and how it’s helped hone her acting skills by working with some of the industry’s best actors, saying ” It makes you a bit of a snob.”

"My standards have definitely been raised. It’s a blessing and a curse, “Game of Thrones” being my first job and working with such incredible scripts and such incredible veteran actors, and working with the best crew."

Speaking about how her character on Game of Thrones — Sansa — will fair in season 8 without her mentor Littlefinger, Turner says it’s going to be “tricky.” With House Stark once again in control of the North, Arya and Bran back home with her, and Jon Snow named the King in the North, everything seems to be coming up Stark. However, as we all know, there’s a much larger and powerful threat headed their way in the form of the Night King and his army of the dead.

More from Show Snob

"It’s a big challenge for her, without this master manipulator having her back. This season is more a passionate fight for her than a political, manipulative kind of fight."

Does that mean Sansa will actually get her hands dirty in the fight against the White Walkers? Until season 7, Sansa had learned to hide in the shadows, staying out of sight in order to survive, but now that she’s the Lady of Winterfell, the training in political maneuvering she learned from Littlefinger might come in handy when Jon Snow brings his new girlfriend home to Winterfell — Queen Daenerys Targaryen.

It will certainly be exciting to see how Jon’s siblings react to Daenerys, and if Bran reveals he’s actually a Targaryen, meaning Jon is now in an incestuous relationship with his aunt Daenerys. Boy, that would probably go over like a led balloon with Sansa and the others.

Oh well, I guess we’ll have another year and a few months to wait until we get the answer to all those questions. We miss you, Game of Thrones.
