Watch a teaser for The Walking Dead mid-season finale “They got out”
The Walking Dead season 8 mid-season finale airs this Sunday, and we’ve got a brand new teaser from AMC.
If you thought All Out War was going splendidly for Rick, Maggie, and King Ezekiel, you’d be wrong. King Ezekiel’s pet tiger Shiva was killed by walkers, Maggie has her hands full with the captured Saviors and that whole mess at The Hilltop, and Rick was captured by the Garbage Pale Kids and participated in some weird sexual fantasy for Jadis. No, but seriously, that was really weird.
Not to mention, Carl is supposed to be holding down the fort at Alexandria because all the adults are the most irresponsible bunch of idiots the apocalypse has ever seen. Well, Rick, it looks like all that work was for nothing because Negan and the Saviors got out.

So, we’ve got the Saviors at the gates of Alexandria, and Rick is nowhere to be seen. Yep, that checks out. Actor Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) has been promising there would be a shocking death or two (maybe) during the mid-season finale, and now we can safely assume that death will be an Alexandrian.
But who will it be? Carl is an intricate part of the story in the comics, and I can’t really see the show moving on without him eventually taking the mantle of the leader from his father, one day. However, Chandler Riggs (Carl) is enrolling in college and may want to experience all the world has to offer a young man his age.
The other “shocking” option is for Michonne and baby Judith to take the death that Lori had in the comics. In said comics, Lori was trying to escape the prison as it was being bombarded by the Governers tank, and a sniper shot and killed both Lori and infant Judith she was holding in her arms.
While that would be absolutely heartbreaking, it would definitely be a shocking death, on all levels.
