If you watched Bright on Netflix and enjoyed as much as we did, then you’re going to be happy about this news.

Netflix has officially announced that a sequel to Bright is, in fact, going to happen. Despite being completely snubbed and even trounced by critics, Bright was a smash hit with fans, and really, that’s all that matters. So, Netflix is moving forward with the sequel, and the news came via a funny little video of two Orcs auditioning for roles. Check it out:

First off, let’s talk about the fact that the official Netflix YouTube channel titled this video as “Leaked Orc Auditions Confirm Sequel Rumors.” Well done, Netflix, well done. Then there’s the smaller Orc saying Bright reminded him of Alien Nation, a film and later a television series that had a “Buddy Cop” feel to it, much like Bright.

Of course, the really funny part of this video comes from the possible sequel titles:

  • Brighter
  • Bad Boys in Mordor
  • Orcs Gone Wild
  • The Last Inferni
  • Wand Wars

Starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, and written/directed by David Ayer, Bright was labeled as Netflix’s first blockbuster film, and according to Entertainment Weekly, it was the “highest viewed Netflix film ever on the service in its first week of release and one of the biggest originals (including sequels/additional seasons) Netflix has ever launched.” Take that, critics.

Bright was a fun film that had the feel of Training Day and Bad  Boys, mixed in with Lord of the Rings. Smith and Edgerton were great in their roles as two cops forced to work together but end up becoming close friends due to the adventure they’re put through once they find a magic wand (a highly coveted magical item that can give its owner every desire he or she wishes for). That chemistry between the two actors is what really carried this film.

We loved Bright and can’t wait for the sequel. Bring it on Netflix, those “critics” be damned.
