Better Call Saul starts production on season 4
Rejoice! Production on Better Call Saul season 4 has officially begun!
Peter Gould, writer/creator of Better Call Saul, tweeted on Monday that production for season 4 of the show had officially begun. According to Den of Geek, the first episode will be directed by Minkie Spiro, a UK director best known for her work on Skins.
The show is expected to premiere toward the back half of 2018 and should pick up right where season 3 left off. The season 3 finale saw Jimmy/Saul’s brother Chuck start a fire that most assuredly killed him. How Jimmy will handle this death, and if it will be the catalyst event that finally sends him into the persona of Saul Goodman, are yet to be seen.

In 2017, AMC president Charlie Collier announced there would, in fact, be a season 4 of Better Call Saul.
"Supporting artists we respect and admire; delivering truly outstanding character development and nuanced dramatic twists and turns; continuing a legacy of bold creative choices; loving writing that is the best in the business: Truly, ‘S’all good, man.’ Congratulations to Vince, Peter, Bob and everyone involved with Better Call Saul. Bring on season four!”"
Creator Vince Gilligan spoke to how much longer the series would run for, saying he couldn’t exactly give a number of remaining episodes, but that there was room for something after Saul ends, due to the nature of the black and white glimpses into the lawyer’s future as the manager of a Cinnabon.
"But there’s one difference in Better Call Saul’s finite nature that wasn’t there with Breaking Bad, which is that there is yet again the possibility of a whole other story to be told through the black-and-white beginnings of a post-Breaking Bad world that we’ve put at the top of each season."

Gilligan went on to say that a “post-Breaking Bad world” is fascinating to him, but there were no promises when it comes to the possibility of continuing that story in the present day. Who knows, maybe Saul and Jesse will see each other again…oh wait, Jesse might try and kill him again, so that would be bad…very bad.
