A Series of Unfortunate Events to end after Season 3
By Ariba Bhuvad
Look away, Look away, we have some sad news.
Neil Patrick Harris has revealed that the third season of A Series of Unfortunate Events will indeed be the last and final one. Last year, the series was renewed for seasons two and three, with the release of the second season rapidly approaching. The first season covered the first four books of Lemony Snicket’s books–so it is safe to assume that the final nine will be covered in seasons two and three.
Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Count Olaf, confirmed in an interview with TVGuide that this was the plan from the get-go.

"“We’re three seasons all in. We’ve intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books. We’ve added a few characters that aren’t in the books, we’ve added some songs that you probably couldn’t put into the books, but for the most part, we’re sticking to the structure of what already worked.”"
When the series returns, the story will no longer focus on the lives of the Baudelaire orphans–Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. We will see the series end with Snicket’s final book, The End.
Season two’s cast includes:
- Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf
- Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire
- Louis Hynes as Klause Baudelaire
- Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket
- K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Poe
- Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire
