‘Preacher’ season 3 has cast the L’Angell Family

Preacher season 3 has promised to put Jesse Custer through his own personal hell with the introduction of the L’Angell Family.
For Preacher fans unfamiliar with the comic books, Jesse’s maternal grandmother was easily one of the evilest characters in the entire series. What made her scariest was that she did everything in the name of God — and fans of Preacher knows that is not always a good thing in this world.
Not only was his grandmother evil, but she had two men working for her that did all her dirty work, and they had no problems getting their hands dirty. Fans might remember the Jesse flashbacks when he was locked in a casket and dropped to the bottom of the lake. That was all due to his grandmother and her hired hands.

According to Deadline, AMC has announced the casting of the L’Angell family. Betty Buckley will portray Gran’ma Marie L’Angell. Horror movie fans might remember Buckley as the psychiatrist who tried to help James McAvoy’s character in Split last year.
Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) will play T.C., the mentally unstable henchman of Gran’ma while Jeremy Childs (Nashville) will play the muscle for Gran’ma, Jody. Strangely, it is Cunningham and not Childs who is listed as a regular cast member, because Jody had the more significant role in the comics.
Also signed is Liz McGeever as Christina — a name that Preacher comic book fans will recognize as Jesse’s mother. This is likely a case where she appears in flashbacks with Jesse as a child unless the Preacher TV show makes a move away from her role in the comics.

When Preacher season 2 ended, Jesse was driving back to a home he hoped never to return with the dead body of his beloved Tulip, apparently hoping his Gran’ma could bring her back to life.
There is no premiere date for Preacher season 3 yet.
