Game of Thrones promises that a lot of characters will die in final season

If Game of Thrones has taught audiences anything, it is that anyone and everyone can die at any given time.

There is no chance that changes in the final season, coming to HBO in 2019. Variety reported that HBO senior vice president of drama, Francesca Orsi was at the Best of HBO panel at the INTV conference in Israel and talked a lot about the spinoffs that are coming after Game of Thrones ends, but she also had plenty to say about the final season of the popular medieval HBO series.

When it comes to the finale of Game of Thrones, Orsi said that no one was given the scripts before their table read, meaning that all the actors were reading the scripts with no idea what was coming next on the page. As a result, she said there was a lot of shock and surprises when “they started falling down to their deaths.”

Orsi called the table read of the Game of Thrones finale a “really powerful moment in our lives and our careers.” From the sound of it, there is going to be a lot of bloodshed, and a lot of characters fans have grown to love (and hate) will die in the series finale.

While there are fans who have lived through the beheading of Ned Stark in season 1 and the Red Wedding, yet still hold out hope of a glorious ending with their favorites surviving, it sounds like those hopes might be in vain.

However, while there were a ton of deaths, Orsi also said that after the table read of the Game of Thrones finale, the cast stood and clapped for 15 or 20 minutes (which honestly seems like hyperbole).

With that said, there will be many deaths if Orsi is to be believed. It is a good bet to assume some might come at the hands of The Knight King, while others will fall in betrayals and the battle for the Iron Throne.
