Marvel’s Daredevil adds Jay Ali as a series regular for season 3
Daredevil is expanding its cast for season three with actor Jay Ali joining the cast.
Known from his recurring stint The Fosters, Ali has long been an up-and-comer in the television world. He’s been acting since 2005, but recently has been seen in some big name shows.
Netflix generally has a good rap for casting lesser known but impressive actors, and Ali looks like he’s up to the task of joining the MCU.

The Wrap reports that Jay Ali will be playing Rahul “Ray” Nadeem, a new character in town who will probably be caught up in the fight for Hell’s Kitchen. He’s described as “as honest, but ambitious FBI agent willing to go to any length for his family,” which will make him a threat.
Anytime someone is described as “willing to go to any length,” it means he will cross a line to help his own cause. However, it’s not clear if he’ll be teaming up with Daredevil or Kingpin to protect his family.
Interestingly enough, he isn’t the first FBI agent to join the Netflix/Marvel universe. Earlier this year, Wilson Bethel joined The Punisher as a mysterious agent. While many fans believe Bethel’s character to end up becoming a vigilante, it seems like Ali will be more of an adversary.
Even if he does end up becoming trouble for Matt, behind the scenes people are excited to see Jay Ali join the cast. Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb had a positive reaction to the new addition with a short press release.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jay into our stellar cast. His storyline and riveting performance will captivate our fans in the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil."
Daredevil showrunner, Erik Oleson, was also excited about the newest member of the team with a favorable response of his own.
"I love Jay Ali. It isn’t easy to join a cast as talented as Marvel’s Daredevil – and Jay blew us all out of the water with his audition. His moving performance in Season 3 will show the world that he’s a star in the making."

Sounds like Ali will be able to hold his own alongside all of the talented actors on the series. Fans will get to see him in action later this year when Daredevil returns to Netflix. While there’s no premiere date set, season three isn’t expected to debut until after Luke Cage on June 22.
