WWE superstar Paul Heyman starring in new unscripted television series

The WWE has seen their fair share of superstars make it in Hollywood and on television.

Names like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Ballers), Dave “Batista” Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), John Cena (Blockers) and more have made the jump and reached great success.

Now, a very unlikely name is making the move to television outside of the WWE. Paul Heyman, the former owner and founder of ECW and current manager of Brock Lesnar, it getting his own unscripted show.

According to The Wrap, Paul Heyman has signed on with Looking 4 Larry, a former marketing agency that has since become a studio owned by Mitchell Stuart. They have since teamed up with Roy Bank’s (The Apprentice) Banca Studio and together they will create unscripted entertainment.

The shows will stretch across multiple platforms, although the two sides have not named where they will air yet. Heyman himself gave no hints as to what they will be planning, although he was depreciating of himself — which is normal for the WWE veteran.

Heyman joked that he was chosen to be the center of focus for their first television shows — against his own “strenuous objection.”

"“I have come to the educated conclusion Roy has made this decision based on a desire when pitching from the networks that we learn how to deal with rejection.”"

Despite his comments, Paul Heyman is a perfect choice for a nonscripted television show. He has become over his career one of the best talkers in WWE history and can sell anything with just a microphone. Even when cornered by the paparazzi from TMZ, Heyman is always entertaining.

The unscripted television show will also have nothing to do with the WWE. Heyman also had a great description of what the shows will be like.

"“Created by people with ADD for people with ADD, to be enjoyed by people who would subscribe to a theology of ADD.”"

Bank compared the first show to be a “hybrid” taking what Paul Heyman does in the WWE and mixing it with late-night cable talk shows. He said that even people unfamiliar with Heyman will love the show.

As for the WWE, Brock Lesnar is hinted to be leaving the WWE after WrestleMania 34 and Paul Heyman’s contract will expire as well, although there is a chance he re-signs.

The Wrap does report that the Paul Heyman television shows will not interfere with his work with the WWE.
