Netflix limited series Maniac debuts trailer and key art
An official trailer along with a new poster has been released for Netflix’s upcoming limited series ‘Maniac,’ starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.
The new trailer provides more information about what to expect from Maniac than the teaser Netflix released a week ago. However, the plot of the black comedy still remains mysterious.
Take a look at the trailer below:

Here’s what we do know — or have pieced together — about the series. Maniac centers on the story of Annie Landsberg (Stone) and Owen Milgram (Hill), strangers who meet when they join the late stages of a pharmaceutical trial.
They decide to participate in the trial based on the promise that the drug being tested can fix any malady of the mind, from mental illness to heartbreak.
Based on the trailer, it looks like the trial does far more than fix the participants’ minds — it also makes them question their reality or conjure new ones. And no matter what reality they find themselves in, Hill’s and Stone’s characters always manage to find each other.
Maniac is based on a Norwegian TV show by Hakon Bast Mossige and Espen PA Lervaaq, according to Deadline.
The series is written by Patrick Somerville (The Leftovers) and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation, True Detective). In addition to Stone and Hill, Justin Theroux stars as Dr. James K. Mantleray and Sally Field stars as Dr. Greta Mantleray.
Maniac looks like it will be a heady trip, and given all the talent involved will likely be fascinating to watch.
The 10-episode series will premiere on Netflix on September 21.
