Thanks to Apple, it’s always sunny in Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day’s lives!

Apple just gave It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day’s half-hour scripted comedy a straight-to-series order. This will be their first collaboration since It’s Sunny and McElhenney will also star in the series made possible by Lionsgate/3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft.

The comedy is set in a video game development studio and is going to explore the human condition through comedy and humor. McElhenney and Day are creating the series under their production company, RCG, alongside the folks at 3 Arts and Ubisoft.

McElhenney also has an untitled comedy pilot over at Fox that he has been working on alongside former It’s Sunny writer/executive producer, Rob Rosell, and of course, Day. Joining the cast of the untitled comedy will be McElhenney’s wife Kaitlin Olson, Rob Riggle, and Leah Remini.

The boys are keeping pretty busy with all the shows under their guidance, which include Day’s co-creator credit on Fox’s multi-camera comedy coming out this fall, The Cool Kids. It’s exciting to see how far McElhenney and Day have come since their days of filming It’s Sunny on a digital camcorder, which was literally a project they took on, not realizing where it would lead them.
