2019 Golden Globes television winners

The 76th Golden Globes aired Sunday night on NBC with hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh.

I barely had time to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles winning their NFC Wild Card game (thanks to Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles and Cody Parkey) before I had to change gears and get ready for the Golden Globes completely.

If you read my Golden Globes predictions post and you were wondering how I did:

More from Show Snob

Should wins: 1 out of 11
Will wins: 6 out of 11

It was a night full of surprises, glamour, and a ton of drunk celebrities. You can tell that by how many times they have to bleep people out. It was a lot.

There were some surprises, like Richard Madden and Ben Whishaw winning their first Golden Globes. I’m bummed Julia Roberts didn’t win, but I do love Sandra Oh.

Some Show Snob favorites also won. Rachel Brosnahan took home the award for Best Actress in a Comedy, Patricia Clarkson won for Best Supporting Actress, and The Americans won Best Drama for their final season.

Speaking of Sandra Oh – and Andy Samberg – as hosts, they were just OK for me. Some of their jokes landed, some of them fell flat (“First man, then first two man”…like, what?), but when Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph’s presentation of Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor in a Movie was funnier in those few minutes, it tells you something.

A huge highlight for me was the inaugural presentation of the Carol Burnett Award to Carol Burnett herself! It’s so fitting that the Golden Globes named their lifetime achievement award for television (long overdue) after not only a woman but one of the most beloved living legends and the inspiration for all young comediennes. Seriously, networks need to re-air her shows.

Now, without further ado, here are the winners (in bold)!
