Game of Thrones beloved cat, Ser Pounce, is officially dead
Have you been wondering whatever happened to King Tommen’s beloved cat, Ser Pounce on Game of Thrones? You may not like what his status is.
For those of you who have been losing sleep at night wonder whatever happened to Game of Thrones’ favorite feline, Ser Pounce? Well, we have news.
Ser Pounce is dead.
No one knew what became of King Tommen’s cat after the young king died in the Season 6 finale. But showrunner David Benioff recently told Entertainment Weekly that the cat has since deceased.

So, what happened to him? Benioff said,
"“Cersei hated the name ‘Ser Pounce’ so much she could not allow him to survive. So, she came up with her most diabolical execution. Ser Pounce’s death was so horrible we couldn’t even put it on air.”"
Look, I am not a cat person. So, I was never worried about this particular cat’s whereabouts. But, when I think about some of the most horrifying deaths on Game of Thrones throughout its seven seasons (so far), I can’t imagine what Cersei may have done to that poor cat.
All kidding aside, the showrunners probably just stopped putting the cat in the show after Tommen’s suicide, so they had to come up with a reason for Ser Pounce’s absence because people are weird and think about minute details like that, I guess.
Me, I’m more worried about the impending war between the Night King and the rest of Westeros. I’m also concerned about Jon finding out his true patronage and that he had “relations” with his aunt. I even lose sleep at night thinking about which one of my favorite Game of Thrones characters is going to survive the series.
But, like, if you’re worried about a cat – too each his own, I guess.
Anyway, rest in peace Ser Pounce. You made Tommen happy during his short life and made a (small) legion of fans fall in love with you. Gone too soon!
