Apple continues to add to its impressive slate for its upcoming streaming service, now adding a drama starring Oscar winner and Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson.

The untitled show received a straight-to-series order from Apple, Deadline reports. The “provocative and contemporary” story centers on a female CIA agent (played by Brie Larson) whose path through the spy agency will be explored through the lens of her closest relationships.

The series is based on Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA, the memoir of Amaryllis Fox, which will be published on October 15 by Knopf. It will draw on Fox’s real-life experiences as a CIA undercover agent.

Animal Kingdom‘s Megan Martin is expected to close a deal to write and executive produce.

Larson teamed up with 51 Entertainment’s Lynette Howell Taylor and Media Res’ Michael Ellenberg to acquire the rights to Fox’s memoir and life.  All three will executive produce the series along with others. Meanwhile, Fox will serve as a producer and work as a consultant providing background details for the show.

Since winning an Academy Award for Room in 2016, Larson’s profile has continued to rise. Now that she’s become Captain Marvel, the newest superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she’s a bona fide celebrity with serious acting chops to boot. As a result, this series should be of interest to fans who have enjoyed her work in both popular and indie films.

While there have been many series focused on CIA agents, it’s rare that those series stand out. However, this show’s focus on the personal and professional life of a single figure might cause it to rise above the pack. Personally, I’m getting some serious Alias vibes from the premise.

Once again, Apple has succeeded in attracting top talent to its upcoming streaming platform. The combination of exciting actors and an eclectic set of shows could see Apple’s service launch big. That launch will likely happen in April or May, according to Deadline.
