Just a couple of days after announcing the date for Yellowstone’s season 2 premiere, Paramount Networks has released the trailer for the upcoming season.

Yellowstone is set to make its season 2 bow on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 pm ET/PT. Based on the trailer, it’s going to be an action-packed 10 episodes.

As the intense clip shows, the season will see the screws continue to tighten for the Dutton family. Patriarch John Dutton, played by Oscar-winner Kevin Costner, is as ruthless as ever when it comes to protecting his ranch.

Meanwhile, tough-as-nails daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) continues to do whatever it takes to help her father. Yellowstone loyalist Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) looks to be in trouble. Jamie (Wes Bentley) continues his run for state Attorney General without his father’s approval. And estranged son Kayce (Luke Grimes) returns to the fold after his wife, Monica, leaves him.

The trailer also features the first look at new cast member Neal McDonough who will play wealthy businessman Malcolm Beck. Based on his dodgy demeanor, the character looks like he’ll fit right in among the show’s other schemers.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

"Yellowstone, Paramount Network’s epic scripted dramatic series, stars Costner as John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park."

Yellowstone was the second most watched show on cable last year, and over the course of the season its ratings only went up. With those kinds of numbers, it’s no wonder that season 2 is highly anticipated.

It looks like the show will be even bigger, better, and more explosive in season 2. Between the epic sweep of the landscapes and the tension of the plot, Yellowstone‘s second season looks like it will be quite a ride.
