Yellowstone: Paramount Network announces season 2 premiere date

Paramount Network has announced a June 19 premiere date for the second season of its Kevin Costner-fronted drama, Yellowstone.

The ratings winner will be returning to its season 1 time slot: Wednesday nights at 10 pm. The June 19 premiere will kick off the series’ 10-episode season 2.

In conjunction with the premiere date announcement, Paramount Network released a first look photo, which can be seen at Deadline, and a teaser clip, which can be seen below.

Centering on the Dutton family, headed by Kevin Costner’s patriarch John Dutton, the series examines the lengths to which the family will go to protect their ranch, the largest in Montana, from all threats. The second season is sure to bring new conflicts and complications for Dutton and his three adult children.

In addition to Costner, Yellowstone stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Danny Huston, and Gil Birmingham. In addition, Neal McDonough has been added to the season 2 cast in a recurring role.

The series, created by Taylor Sheridan (Wind River), was the second most-watched scripted show on cable last year. And with its final episodes of 2018, Yellowstone‘s ratings only increased, leading to its biggest audience of the season.

No doubt, Paramount Network is looking forward to sharing the new season with fans. The series gave the new network a major boost and made them a noteworthy player in the cable TV landscape.

Last year, the only cable series that bested Yellowstone‘s ratings was The Walking Dead. However, with that show’s numbers slipping, as reported by Deadline, and anticipation for the new season of Yellowstone running high, the drama could rise to even greater heights in season 2.

With a powerhouse cast and quite a few tantalizing plot threads left hanging after season 1, the series should be quite a draw of fans who want to see the continuing saga of the Duttons. And for those fans, June 19 can’t come soon enough.
