Ted Danson will star in Tina Fey comedy series on NBC
It turns out there is life after a successful television show, and that’s the case time and time again for Ted Danson.
Ted Danson already has a job lined up after his current series The Good Place ends after next season.
Tina Fey and Robert Carlock who produced shows like 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt tapped Danson to star in a yet-to-be-named comedy series about a rich businessman who runs for mayor. To his surprise, he wins and then has to figure out what he actually stands for.
According to Deadline, Fey and Carlock wrote the role specifically for Danson. The show is a straight-to-series order, meaning NBC didn’t need to see a pilot before they ordered the series. So, they must expect big things from the show.

Per Deadline‘s report, co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment, George Cheeks and Paul Teledgy said that they’re excited about the series:
"“It’s with talent that we know and love and who have worked on some of the most beloved shows in our network’s history. We can’t wait.”"
I know I’m excited. I would watch anything written by Tina Fey, and not just because she’s from my home town. She’s the closest thing to a comedic genius we have today. And teaming up with one of the most decorated and funniest actors (Danson), it’s sure to be a hit.
Danson just received his 13th Emmy nomination for playing Michael on The Good Place. But he is most known for his role as Sam Malone on Cheers, for which he won two Emmys and two Golden Globes.
Fey has won eight Emmys, one as Lead Actress and four for Outstanding Comedy Series for 30 Rock, one for writing for Saturday Night Live, and two for guest-hosting Saturday Night Live.
