Russian Doll’s Natasha Lyonne is spending a substantial amount of time in the director’s chair, with stints helming episodes of High Fidelity, Shrill, and an untitled Awkwafina project.

Natasha Lyonne is best known as an actress. Most recently she’s appeared in Orange is the New Black and Russian Doll. However, she can increasingly be found taking on directing duties, according to Deadline.

She is directing an episode of the upcoming Hulu series High Fidelity, a reboot of Nick Horby’s 1995 book and the John Cusack-starring 2000 film of the same name. This time though the lead is a woman, played by Zoe Kravitz.

Lyonne is also directing the fourth episode, entitled “Paperwork,” of Comedy Central’s Awkwafina series. The show focuses on a character named Nora, played by Awkwafina, who will also co-write the series, which is based on her own experiences coming of age in Queens.

In addition, Lyonne will helm the sixth episode of the second season of Shrill, starring Aidy Bryant, also from Hulu.

Of her whirlwind of directing gigs, Lyonne said,

"I was directing High Fidelity mostly in Brooklyn, and now I’m directing Awkwafina mostly in Queens, so I’m really making my way through the boroughs."

Lyonne’s Russian Doll recently scored 13 Emmy nominations, with Lyonne personally receiving three nods for executive producing, writing, and acting.

Lyonne directed the season finale of that show and also directed an episode in the final season of her other Netflix show, Orange is the New Black.

Lyonne is happy about her expanding list of directing credits, confessing,

"It’s been great. I’m getting in my hours. I dropped out of film school when I was 16. I dropped out of Tisch. I was in the filmmaking program as a film and philosophy double major. I really thought that I was going to read all these philosophical works and then I was going to make movies about them. Then I dropped out, and so now I’m getting it all back in. My teenage self is in seventh heaven."
