It’s Jennifer Aniston vs Reese Witherspoon in The Morning Show trailer
The first official trailer for Apple’s The Morning Show pits Jennifer Aniston against Reese Witherspoon. The show is set to debut in the fall.
Apple has dropped the first full trailer for the biggest original show for the upcoming streaming service of the tech giant, according to Deadline. The Morning Show stars Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon and, by the looks of it, the show seems to be must-see TV.
The trailer (below) pits Carell, Aniston, and Witherspoon against each other as they also tackle their own issues.
In the trailer, Carell’s character Mitch Kessler has just been fired due to a sexual misconduct allegation. Aniston’s Alex Levy is struggling to keep her job after the scandal as the network is trying to push her out and replace her with Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson.

The trailer seems to have already differentiated the show from the HBO’s The Newsroom. The Morning Show seems to be delivering on its promise and revolving more around the relationships and drama with these characters. It appears to be more behind-the-scenes about the lives of the people who bring the news to you.
The story is set to be told mainly from the perspectives of Aniston and Witherspoon’s characters. Both their characters and Mitch seems to be at different points of their career and it is about them tackling the issues they face, whether it be as an aging anchor for Aniston or finding their identity for Witherspoon. The show will focus on the changing landscape of the morning news media.
Alongside Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell, the show also stars Mark Duplass and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The Morning Show is set to debut in the fall with the release of Apple’s streaming service, Apple TV+. The Morning Show is written by Bates Motel‘s Kerry Ehrin and directed by Mimi Leder.
