Ming-Na Wen joins the cast for The Mandalorian!

Completing the Disney trifecta, Ming-Na Wen is heading to space to join the Star Wars franchise in The Mandalorian. Previously, she has voiced the iconic role of Mulan and suited up as a badass SHIELD agent on Agents of SHIELD. Deadline confirmed the news today where Wen was honored as one of the Disney Legends alongside a myriard of other big names.

Disney CEO, Bob Iger, was the one who announced the casting at D23. The expo unveiled a lot of information for The Mandalorian, including a trailer and a premiere date.

During her speech, Wen joked about her excitement to join this franchise when she thanked Disney.

"“Please just keep acquiring all these different franchises because I just keep getting employed by them. I have hit every bucket list thanks to Disney.”"

The Mandalorian sees Pedro Pascal take on the starring role as a bounty hunter alongside previously announced cast members Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Nick Nolte, and Werner Herzog’s presumed antagonist. Disney did not reveal who Ming-Na Wen would be playing.

The series seems like it will dive into the planet of Mandalore and the successful bounty hounters who hail from there. Star Wars fans are aware that Boba and Jango Fett are both natives from the planet.

When Disney+ launches on November 12, The Mandalorian will be available to stream. The series has already been renewed for a second season.
