Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Netflix projects include A Chorus Line and Halston

Ryan Murphy is all set to take over Netflix with his upcoming slew of Netflix originals which includes A Chorus Line and Halston.

The beloved producer Ryan Murphy who has developed a cult following alongside huge critical acclaim with shows like Glee, American Horror Story, and American Crime Story is headed to Netflix and he has some really interesting projects up in the horizon. Deadline has released some exclusive scoop on these projects, one of which is going to be a limited series adaptation of the 1975 Tony- and Pulitzer-winning musical production, A Chorus Line.

Ryan Murphy has really been on a pursuit to bring broadways to television for quite some time now. A Chorus Line is set to be a 10-part adaptation of the musical. And is said to be in the early stages of development.

No further details have been released which could hint on how he is approaching the hour and a half musical for TV.

Murphy is also working on a movie based on the recent Broadway comedy The Prom which will star Nicole Kidman alongside Meryl Streep. It is notable that the duo was also seen together recently on HBO’s Big Little Lies.

He recently won a Tony Award for his revival of the play, The Boys in the Band, which starred the likes of Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons. And he is said to have been working on the TV project for that as well.

Deadline also revealed that he is also working on another miniseries about the iconic designer Halston who changed the game of fashion, Ewan McGregor is set to play the character.

He is going to be making a docuseries about pop art icon Andy Warhol as well.

His soon to be released Netflix titles include the upcoming anthology series The Politician starring Ben Platt which premieres on September 27, alongside a prequel to  One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest titled Ratched, which will star his American Horror Story veteran, Sarah Paulson.

A Chorus Line was created by director-choreographer Michael Bennett and the musical navigates the high-energy and heartbreaking process of auditioning for a Broadway musical and is informed by the accounts of the performers who first brought the show to life.

The musical had a glorious 15-year Broadway run and was also revived on Broadway in 2006. A Chorus Line has previously been adapted into a film though a rather unsuccessful one.
