The Righteous Gemstones season 1, episode 6 recap: Now the Sons of Eli Were Worthless Men

Episode six begins with Jesse towing his would-be fraudsters’ truck to Kelvin’s home. Whose strange friend, Keefe, comes outside slightly nude. Over at the Locust Grove church, most of the congregation has moved to The Righteous Gemstones‘ establishment. And therefore the smaller will downgrade further.
At Golf, BJ, Judy’s fiancée, attempts to bond with her father and brother; Baby Billy attempts to get her onside for his obvious deviousness. Amber asks husband Jesse what was going on, as she doesn’t believe the prank explanation. She is also concerned about the bruising Gideon is hiding from the crash.
Judy and Jesse are annoyed that the boasting Kelvin is getting a new role handing rosaries to refugees, given by their father. Smashing an expensive soda machine of Kelvin’s is Judy’s response; before threatening to leave the family.

Scottie berates Gideon for his stubborn father, uncle, and auntie. While trying to ascertain who the prospective robbers are, Jesse’s gang meeting is interrupted by a phone call. It’s Scottie, who demands his belongings to be returned: if they are not, he’ll release the video of Jesse doing drugs to the media. However, the latter is confident that it’s an empty threat and insults the failed thief.
Baby Billy has Judy perform for him, all part of his inveigling; she is fully onboard. Meanwhile, Jesse and gang throw their commemorative “We did it” badges into a lake. Though Scottie is determined to get “his money” by any means necessary.
At a Gemstone meeting, Judy attacks Kelvin and is told, sternly, by Eli that it was her last chance to impress. Therefore she confirms that she will accompany Baby Billy at Locust Grove. Gideon and Jesse attempt to make-up and bond; then create a family photo in all-white dress.

Afterward, it’s time to get ready for Baby Billy and Judy’s show; though first Billy informs Eli he hates him and is his rival. Before performing, Judy demands sex unsuccessfully from BJ. During the show Judy showcases her talents, Eli seems pleased with the display. The Righteous Gemstones‘ episode six ends with Scottie clearing security and entering Jesse’s compound.
