Could the Why Women Kill 2019 storyline actually be getting interesting? Eh, sort of.

Why Women Kill is nearing the end of its season, and with that, it’s finally bringing some life to its rather dull 2019 storyline. And with that, we’ll start with what’s going on there. Things have been very off between the thrupple ever since Jade and Eli slept together. And now, Taylor has left the house and is hoping to get through to Eli by using Jade.

He’s been spiraling with his addiction, and it’s safe to say, Jade has done nothing but enable it. Which is why it’s super frustrating to see that she refuses to help Taylor, even after Taylor tells her Eli’s warning signs. Whenever Eli starts using, apparently he starts making really big purchases. And that was something Jade was definitely not going to turn down when she found out he bought her a car.

Suddenly, this thrupple has been reduced to a couple with Taylor on the outs. But don’t worry Why Women Kill fans, Taylor has a plan in mind–visiting Jade’s ex in prison. Obviously, there is some major reveal coming our way, and I can’t wait to hear all about it.

In the 1980 storyline, Simone and Tommy are busy planning their romantic European getaway. Unfortunately for Tommy, Simone is accustomed to a very exciting and expensive lifestyle. Given how enamored Tommy is with her, he will do anything. Like return the expensive brooch he bought her, and get a tattoo of her face instead.

The tension between Simone and Karl continues to escalate as their close friends begin to find out that Karl is gay. One woman, in particular, is the wife of Karl’s doctor who recently revealed that Karl is sick, and will die as a result of his condition. Simone’s facial expressions give away just how devastated she is by the news, and it’s something that is going to keep her by Karl’s side until his dying breath.

Given that she was supposed to jet off with Tommy, it creates tension between the couple leading them to break up. Running off in a frenzy, Tommy gets in a bad car accident and is rushed to the hospital–where his mother catches a glimpse of her son’s tattoo of Simone. And let’s just say, she is not happy.

Last but not least, Why Women Kill continues to drive Beth Ann to a point she may not return from in the 1960 storyline. She is willing to go to great lengths to keep Rob around which leads her to lie about her health. Beth Ann does some research and decides she is going to tell Rob that she has cancer and only has 6 months to live. Not cool, Beth Ann, not cool.

It is her hope that this will make Rob commit to her 1000%, but she’s fooling herself. In fact, he does the complete opposite and proposes to April after learning that she is pregnant. To make matters worse, he asks her to wait six months and then they can be together. Ouch, Beth Ann is getting in way too deep with her lies.

Why Women Kill has been such a treat to watch in its first season with its dark, campy vibe. I wouldn’t mind getting another season with different characters and different stories, because there is just so much that can be explored here. But in the meantime, we have plenty to look forward to before season one ends. Who will die? Who will kill? We’ll find out soon–hopefully.
