Jack Ryan: Paul Scheuring set as season 3 showrunner
Jack Ryan is getting a new showrunner for season 3!
Paul Scheuring, the creator of FOX’s hit Prison Break, has officially stepped in as the new showrunner for the next season of Jack Ryan. Deadline reports Scheuring will not only serve as the showrunner, but is also expected to take over as executive producer.
Carlton Cuse was the original creative force behind the successful adaptation. He was both the showrunner and executive producer for the series’ first two seasons. However, it was announced earlier this year he would be departing from the showrunning duties but would remain on as a producer. According to Deadline, Cuse wanted to put more focus on his upcoming Locke & Key adaptation.
Jack Ryan season 2 will see the titular character head out of the country to Venezuela. Jack is involved in a personal attack which sends him on a globe-trotting mission alongside his partner James Greer (Wendell Pierce) and German intelligence officer, Harry Baumann (Noomi Rapace).
Scheuring was the creator, writer, and executive producer behind the series Prison Break. He also returned for the recent revival on FOX. On top of that, he is actually working alongside Carlton Cuse for Amazon where the two have teamed up on a sci-fi Western called Atlas.
The second season of Jack Ryan will hit Amazon streaming services on November 1. It has already been renewed for season 3 and it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear another early renewal announcement sometime next month.
