Jack Ryan heads back into the field this fall!

Amazon’s hit series, Jack Ryan, will be back sooner rather than later. Deadline reports the John Krasinski led show is set to return on November 1. Season 2 will follow Jack to a new country where he faces a conspiracy theory that could threaten the entire world.

Heading to Venezuela, Jack questions why a country with some of the richest oil preserves is suffering from one of the largest humanitarian crises the world has ever seen. He theorizes that Russia may have its hand in the pot, which certainly makes the situation in that country more dangerous than anyone realizes.

In the trailer, Jack and his team seem to go over a bomb of some kind which kills some members of the team. The synopsis that Amazon released teases that the President of Venezuela “launches a counter-attack” after Jack starts getting too close to the truth. Since this event is supposed to be personal, it seems like that attack will be the one from the trailer.

The new footage also gives us plenty of moments with Noomi Rapace’s Harriet “Harry” Baumann. When her casting was announced, Amazon revealed she would be a “formidable” German Intelligence agent. The trailer also seems to tease that their could be some romantic chemistry between Harry and Jack, but mainly, that Harry is a completely capable spy who people respect.

Wendell Pierce as James Greer is also seen and his partnership with Jack has grown immensely. At a certain point, the two agree to stay without any back-up to get to the bottom of things when many others would have fled home.

The season 2 cast also includes Michael Kelly as a character named Mike November. It would seem Abbie Cornish will not be back as Cathy Mueller, or at least not as a series regular. However, since Jack will be spending a majority of this season abroad, it wouldn’t make sense for Cathy to tag along with him.
