In episode 203 of Netflix series Sacred Games, Gaitonde makes an autobiographical flop film and Sartaj tracks more info about an apocalyptic religious cult.

Previously on Sacred Games, we had a flashback to when Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) encountered Khanna Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) while closing in on his rival, Suleiman Isa (Saurabh Sachdeva). In the present, Inspector Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) met Nasreen (Sheeba Shaik), who was burned badly. Now Sartaj tracks down twins, Malam (Nitesh Kumar) and Alam (Nilesh Kumar), to find out what they know about her injuries. Sartaj confronts Malam about Nasreen and the apocalyptic war of Ghazwa-e-Hind is mentioned again. Malam also mentions killing all the infidels. Elsewhere, Bipin Bhosale (Girish Kulkarni) is mentioned. We see that he’s kept in a safe house but is not talking.

Flashback

Sacred Games‘ continues it’s Gaitonde flashbacks. When Gaitonde speaks with Guruji, it becomes clear that Gaitonde’s biggest fear is that he’ll be forgotten. Incredibly, Gaitonde’s own rage is forgotten (at least momentarily) after drinking some of Guruji’s tea. They ultimately begin exporting it to do good and get rich. Unfortunately for Gaitonde, he’s still working for Kusum Yadav (Amruta Subhash) and RAW. She now wants him to kill or capture terrorist Shahid Khan (Ranvir Shorey). He says he’d do it for 50 million shillings.

However, when she says he’ll need to cooperate with Suleiman Isa, Gaitonde leaves, saying he will kill her if he sees her again (in so many words). Now Yadav and RAW may go after him for rejecting the job. When Gaitonde calls Guruji for guidance, Guruji gives speech on Apasmara. Gaitonde comes away from this feeling he doesn’t want to be powerful yet unknown, like Apasmara.

On that note, Gaitonde wants to make a movie about himself, so he calls Zoya (Elnaaz Norouzi). Ultimately Gaitonde gets Ram G Verma (Vijay Maurya) as director, with Zoya acting as Kukoo — Gaitonde’s love interest from season 1. Calling the film, “The King of Gopalmath,” it’s intended as a self-congratulatory artistic gift to the world, and to his associates. In fact, Gaitonde’s servant, Deepak “Bunty” Shinde (Jatin Sarna) even writes some lyrics for the musical scenes. Gaitonde goes to the premiere thinly disguised, but the movie’s a bomb and a laughing stock! Also, Zoya is in trouble for appearing in a movie known to be affiliated with a gangster.

Then, when Gaitonde gets picked up by DCP Parulkar (Neeraj Kabi), he displays rare moments of weakness. Parulkar threatens to simply shoot him. However, Yadav calls to save his life. The message being: RAW can find him so he’d better work for them. Of course, it was also foolish for Gaitonde to try being a public figure, based on his notorious reputation. How couldn’t it catch up with him eventually?
