Mr. Robot season 4, episode 4 recap: Not Found
By Ariba Bhuvad
Mr. Robot reminds us why we’ll miss this show so damn much.
Mr. Robot has had quite an interesting start to its fourth and final season. In last week’s episode, it left off with the frightening reminder that the Dark Army is always watching and listening. And thanks to Tyrell, they pretty much know everything about the plan.
Luckily, Elliot stopped him before he could continue. And in an unexpected lucky turn, the Dark Army didn’t have their logs yet so Tyrell killed the man in the van outside…and that brought upon a really weird night for the two er three of them.
Things are essentially a hot mess at this point in time in Mr. Robot and it feels like nothing is going as it should. Starting with Darlene, who gets into the Cyprus National account but it’s going to require a bit more than that to get into Olivia’s stuff. They have to actually break in to the building. Not to mention, she is livid with Elliot, and the voicemail she leaves him is proof of just how much.

After killing the man in the van and successfully preventing the logs from getting back to the Dark Army, Elliot and Tyrell are now tasked with the responsibility of getting rid of the body and van.
Unfortunately, while inside of a gas station, they come back out to find that the van is gone. Looks like the guy wasn’t dead after all.
At this point, they have no cell phone service, all their evidence is gone, and they have no way to get to the next town–unless they go on foot. And that is precisely what they do. It’s all very spooky and frightening, just as any episode should be this close to Halloween.
It’s a fun episode to watch simply due to the interaction between Tyrell and Elliot. This is a first in terms of the amount of time they have been together for an episode.

And it’s a jarring insight into Tyrell’s state of mind, who truly feels like everything has been for no point and he’s now left with nothing. Darlene is in a similar state of mind, broken, scared, and confused.
Elliot is the only one who seems unfazed by any of it. But are we really surprised by that? After roaming the woods for hours and hours, they find the van. The man is inside of it and ends up shooting himself after trying to shoot them. In the process, Tyrell gets shot and tells Elliot to take care of the logs–and walks off into the distance…into a light.
