The World According to Jeff Goldblum episode 2 recap: Ice Cream
We venture into the second episode of The World According to Jeff Goldblum. Episode two of Disney plus’ series takes an intimate look at everything ice cream.
Jeff beautifully begins by describing his undeniable joy for everything. Then he takes a ride in an ice cream truck; great territory for The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
His accomplice, a vendor called Diana, perceptively announces that ice cream evokes childhood memories. Happiness, pleasurable etcetera. She’s sold a million, she reckons.
Pittsburgh in the 1960s is when Mr. Goldblum first ate one. Now to the Las Vegas convention; Diana can guess a favorite flavor by your clothes. Wow. Meanwhile, Jeff samples an ice cream sandwich, which “takes him back”. To the history, to stimulate us nerds.

Ancient Greeks dragged ice blocks with honey to make ice cream. Milk and spice for the Chinese. Snow and salt were another method for the recipe. In America, they pioneered a hand crank, like on those old-fashioned fridges.
Ben & Jerry still live in the small town where they first developed their taste. They are refreshingly still down-to-earth. They opine a Freudian link for our obsession with milk or ice cream. Science seems to back the theory somewhat – it can make us legitimately happy, apparently.
The one and only Jeff Goldblum enters a graveyard, for peanut butter or general deceased and obsolete flavors, we learn. OK. Our host goes off to try making some ice cream next; meeting a taste provocateur. His flavors are often weird, including insects; a delicacy tried by Jeff. He seems to enjoy tasting them.
Together Tyler and Jeff attempt to produce a new savor. In the forest, berries are examined as well as new tangs being considered. They invent a contemporary flavor: Goldblum ice cream. Consisting of Oxalis leaves, secret syrup, heavy cream, and whole milk. Testing his ice cream, Jeff is off to a battleship, of course.
Subsequently the infectiously entertaining Jeff informs us the food is a Navy tradition; the sailors tell stories of their childhood nostalgia. Nostalgia is another proven accelerator for happiness; I’ve learned loads from this episode.
