Titans season 3: Could Troia be making her live-action debut?
By Monita Mohan
During a recent interview, Donna Troy actor Conor Leslie may have hinted at how her character could possibly return for Titans season three.
If you’re a comic book fan, you’re aware that most superheroes go through as many code names as they do costume changes. Donna Troy of the Titans is no different. Originally going by Wonder-Girl, Donna has also adopted other monikers, including Troia, an alias that suited the adult version of Donna and came with its own black suit in the comics. Could Troia be making an appearance on Titans season 3? A video shared by CBR could be suggesting that is a possibility.
Titans improved by leaps and bounds in its second season, but there were a few missteps along the way, primarily, the ignominious death of Donna Troy in the season finale. After going toe-to-toe with Superboy, Donna was undone by a collapsing electrical pylon. She sacrificed her life to save fellow Titan Dawn Granger, as well as innocent bystanders, but it was still an end unbecoming of an Amazon warrior.
Leslie’s Donna Troy has already become a favorite among fans who have had the chance to watch Titans, and many were relieved that the season two finale seemed to hint that Donna wasn’t truly dead. She’s been resurrected several times in the comics (who hasn’t?), so it wouldn’t be a stretch to see the character come back to life. We are especially convinced of this given that Rachel Roth/ Raven followed Donna to Themyscira, insisting that her powers of healing could bring Donna back to life.

If this is Donna’s first resurrection in the Titans universe, she could very well want to leave her past behind and adopt a new look and name. Though Troia has had many arcs in the comics, and she even features in DC Universe’s show Young Justice, during the recent ‘Rebirth’ reboot of the comics, Donna has steadfastly steered away from adopting the moniker. The only time readers met Troia was when she arrived from the future, bitter and angry at being lied to about her origins and losing the love of her life, Roy Harper, to drugs. Since the show veers towards darker storylines, if Troia were to appear, she could very well be villainous.
This wouldn’t be a surprise either. Rachel’s powers have had a mind of their own, and they could potentially affect the healing process and turn Donna evil. A subplot in the next season could deal with redeeming Donna, perhaps by introducing her close friend (and sometimes romantic partner) Roy Harper. The show could also delve into Donna’s mysterious origins, which encompass everything from being a child orphaned in a fire and adopted by the Amazons, to being a weapon created to fight Wonder Woman.
This is all speculation, however. There is no confirmation on whether Leslie is returning to the show yet. But considering how popular she is, we can assume that Donna will be back in some form or another.
