Killing Eve will be back for season 4!

It doesn’t come as a big surprise the hit drama will return for another season, but it’s a little shocking BBC America decided to make the decision so early. Deadline reports Killing Eve has been renewed for season 4 today, which is months before season 3 is even expected to debut.

The cat-and-mouse chase between Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) isn’t going to stop anytime soon. While the two phenomenal leads are expected to return, the series has yet to announce a showrunner for the fourth season.

Originally, Phoebe Waller-Bridge served as the showrunner, however, Emerald Fennell took over for season 2. During April, it was announced Suzanne Heathcote would serve as the new showrunner for season 3 and the plan was to hire a new female showrunner for every season.

Sarah Barnett, the President of AMC Studios, said in a statement:

"“How could we not have massive confidence in Killing Eve? It has won big in every major award show and is the highest-growing show on U.S. television for six years.”"

Sally Woodward Gentle, one of the executive producers, also added:

"“It is testament to everyone involved that we have been picked up so early — the magnificent actors, writers, directors and production team.”"

The series has become a critical hit and an award show darling. It’s been nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards,  five BAFTAs, four Golden Globes, 1 Screen Actors Guild award, and many more. Both Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh have won for their performances in the series.

The rest of the ensemble who will probably be back for the third season is Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens, Sean Delaney as Kenny Stowton, Kim Bodnia as Konstantin Vasiliev, Owen McDonnell as Niko Polastri, and Nina Sosanya as Jess.
