Medical Police season 1, episode 7 recap: Everybody Panic!
Lola and Owen come up against deadly threats and run into old friends as they figure out how to escape from a remote Chinese prison on Medical Police.
Cat awakes in the hospital 36 hours after her fall on Medical Police. Luckily, due to the timing of her accident, she wasn’t infected with the virus. She calls the FBI to report the guy who released the virus but initially has some trouble with the automated menu options.
When she meets up with the FBI to give a description of Collins, she is so vague and contradictory in the details, the resulting sketch is an unrecognizable jumble of hazy features that for some reason doesn’t get any matches in their database. It’s like the man’s a ghost!
Meanwhile, Lola and Owen are stuck in a Chinese prison and it’s terrible! What’s even worse is that Owen is mad at Lola for letting Dr. Waters go, which makes it hard to work together on an escape plan.

By some amazing coincidence, Blake is also at the same prison. He got a life sentence for trying to smuggle a koala through customs. He claims to be a big deal, but everyone pretty much hates him. He knows someone who might be able to help Lola and Owen escape, though.
Bao Tsai is actually a big deal but doesn’t seem very willing to help them until Lola promises she can help her nephew who is sick with the virus. Bao Tsai gives them detailed instructions on how to escape, but they simply lead to an ambush of guards after she informed on them. If she knew how to escape, why would she still be there?
They take Lola and Owen to a room full of dog kennels called the Zoo, which is basically their form of isolation. While they’re stuck in the same cage together, Lola and Owen makeup and bond over memories of their adventure. Not long later, though, Tran is brought in and placed in a cage across from them. Lola quietly exclaims, “Oh my god, it’s Lavator!” Director Patten sent her in to take care of them.
She hacks up a hack saw and saws through the bars of her cage. Then, instead of using it to break into their cage, she simply bends the bars. But why did she even need the hack saw if she could do that? Lola and Owen are freaking out. Lavator is terrifying and they’re probably going to die. At the last second, Blake comes in and knocks her out with a rock.
Lola and Owen see the guards throw Bao Tsai’s sick nephew over the wall from the guard tower, so they use Blake’s clown make-up to fake a rash in hopes the guards will throw them over the wall as well. The plan backfires when the guards decide to shoot them and burn their corpses instead. Luckily (or not), Tran/Lavator has awoken from unconsciousness and shoots the guards before they can shoot them. But, I mean, why not let them do her work for her?
As Owen and Lavator fight, Lola raises a panic in which Lavator is carried away in the stampede of people. The guards flee the prison, leaving the gate open. Now is their chance to escape! They try to convince Blake to come with them, but for some bizarre reason, he decides to stay behind. This place would fall apart without him! Whatever.
Lola and Owen run out the gates only to be trapped between McIntyre in her SUV and Lavator coming for them from the prison. Out of choices, their best and only choice is to trust McIntyre, who just so happens to have Waters with her!
Owen holds a gun on McIntyre (which he had the whole time but forgot about until just now) and demands to know what’s going on. Waters sees their rashes and thinks they’re both infected until they explain it’s just make-up. Lola comments how crazy it would be if she really were infected as we get a peek at the very real rash on her neck. She really is infected!
